Ashleigh Boyd Topeka, Kansas Car Accident: Reporter covering Super Bowl dies nearly a year after spouse’s tragic death
KGKC Telemundo Kansas City is mourning the untimely death of one of its sports anchors, Adan Manzano, who passed away while covering Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. Manzano, who was working on assignment for both Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports, was found dead on Wednesday in his hotel room.
While the station has not disclosed the exact cause of his death, they are currently cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation is ongoing. Sources indicate that Manzano was discovered alone in his room, adding an element of mystery to the circumstances surrounding his sudden passing.
Manzano was a promising and dedicated member of the KGKC team, known for his professionalism and rising star status within the sports journalism industry. The station issued a heartfelt statement expressing their grief over his loss, highlighting his passion for sports and his significant impact on the local community. The statement read, “Adan was a true professional and a rising star who exemplified excellence in his work. We will deeply miss Adan, his passion for sports, and the impact he made on the local community. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Originally hailing from Mexico City, Manzano relocated to Topeka, Kansas, in 2018, where he began to build his career. He earned a degree from Kansas State University, solidifying his commitment to his professional growth. In his personal life, Manzano was married to Ashleigh Boyd, and the couple had a daughter, Eleanor. Tragically, Boyd passed away in a car accident just last April, adding a layer of heartbreak to an already difficult year for Manzano.
