Ginna Dix Obituary, Cause of Death; In Loving Memory of beloved Sidney mom after sudden death at Maine Medical Center

Beloved mom, wife, sister and friend, 48-year-old Ginna Dix of Sidney, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ginna was born in Augusta on November 7, 1976, to Wayne Flagg and Nanci Stitt Kittredge.

A graduate of Gardiner Area High School in 1995, Ginna was active in field hockey, basketball, and outward bound. She pursued her passion for nursing at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, NH, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000. That same year, she met her soulmate, Matthew Dix, and they married on September 22, 2001

Following graduation, Ginna worked as a nurse at Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine, a role she cherished. She later joined Waldo County Hospital in Belfast as a registered nurse before transitioning to oncology at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta. Her dedication to nursing led her to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University, which she completed in January 2018. She then advanced her career as a nurse practitioner, serving patients at the Harold Alfond Center and MaineHealth Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Ginna found immense joy in spending time with her husband and their three beloved dogs, Quimby, Dodge, and Asher, at their Rangeley home. She loved relaxing at the beach in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, and unwinding at camp with family and friends. Her happiest moments included listening to music, enjoying a glass of Prosecco on Saturday mornings, and reading a good book with a strong cup of coffee.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carroll and Syrena Flagg, and Jack and Priscilla Stitt.
