In Loving Memory of John “Emmet” Zodrow
The Green Lake community is devastated by the heartbreaking loss of 12-year-old John “Emmet” Zodrow, whose young life was tragically cut short in a vehicle-vs-bicycle accident on June 25, 2025.
Emmet was the kind of boy who made the world brighter simply by being in it. With an infectious smile, an open heart, and a kindness far beyond his years, he brought joy to everyone who knew him—family, friends, classmates, and neighbors alike. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived with a spirit that was truly unforgettable.
No words can fully capture the grief of losing a child so full of life and promise. The suddenness of his passing has left an ache in our community that cannot be soothed. In the wake of this unimaginable tragedy, Green Lake has come together to mourn, to remember, and to celebrate the beautiful soul we lost far too soon. Vigils have been held, memorials lovingly created, and prayers lifted for the Zodrow family, who are navigating an unspeakable sorrow.
In a statement, the family shared:
“Emmet was our everything. His light touched so many lives, and though he’s no longer with us, that light remains. We are overwhelmed by the love and support we’ve received—it means more than we can ever express.”
As we grieve, we hold Emmet in our hearts and vow to carry forward the love, warmth, and compassion he gave so freely. May his memory be a blessing, and may we never stop speaking his name.
Rest in peace, sweet Emmet. You are deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
